National Night Out 2018 Is Almost Here!

National Night Out 2018 will be here before we know it!  Do you have plans to celebrate yet?

National Night Out History

The annual campaign originally launched 34 years ago as a means to strengthen the relationship between individual communities and their corresponding police departments.

Once a year, families and police crews are invited to gather at block parties, festivals, and other events to celebrate the importance of safety and crime prevention in a community.  During these events, police officers usually provide demonstrations and seminars to teach community members helpful safety tips and best practices.

Neighborhoods across the country are encouraged to participate, and many recognize the event during the first week in August each year, however, Texas always celebrates National Night Out in October.

Where To Participate In This Year’s National Night Out Events
